On 12 December Kogo Gallery in Tartu opens “Home of Good Thoughts”, an exhibition inspired by the corona isolation experiences of five Estonian sculptors and installation artists from last spring. In their work participating artists look for parallels between the home environment and the city space, indicating what a rich inner world could open up in an oppressive situation.

The exhibition looks at the new reality people were faced with when forced to stay home during the emergency situation in spring – the sometimes oppressive confinement from which only screens or fantasies provided an escape, where a small space could at least mentally be given broader dimensions. The exhibition aims to juxtapose private interiors and public city space, using sculptural landmarks, while demonstrating the limitlessness and potential of a person’s inner world.  The exhibition, curated by Rael Artel, features artists Art Allmägi, Eike Eplik, Edith Karlson, Anna Mari Liivrand and Johannes Luik. The exhibition “Home of Good Thoughts” remains open until 30 January 2021.
