International contemporary art exhibition focuses on the seeking nature of art which is related to the very essence of art: the pursuit of the ideal, the desire to find oneself at unknown intersections. The exhibition consists of seven sections, their structure creating a new ideal world and at the same time, together representing one algorithm of the seeking path, possessing the joy of discovery, an off-course phase and the short-term illusion of harmony. And yet this formula for creation demonstrates human weakness and our insignificance before God. The exhibition has been constructed sensually. Each section is introduced by a Latvian poem (by Uldis Bērziņš, Edvīns Raups, Inga Gaile, Kārlis Vērdiņš, Pēteris Draguns, Amanda Aizpuriete and Knuts Skujenieks) visualised in a documentary film by artist Katrina Neiburga.

Overall, thirty-nine artists are participating in the exhibition. They include both current internationally renowned contemporary artists Guido Van der Verve, Jersey Seymour, Oleg Kulik, Anatoly Osmolovsky and late lamented masters Mike Kelly and Bas Jan Ader.

The exhibition has been curated by art historian Ieva Kalniņa and is being organised by the Institute of Contemporary Art in collaboration with the Rīga 2014 Foundation.

The exhibition at the Latvian Railway History Museum, Uzvaras bulvāris 2-4, Rīga, will be open from 23 May to July 20. Open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10:00 to 17:00, Thursdays from 10:00 to 20:00, Sundays from 10:00 to 16:00.
