maketo_dimensija_1On January 10th (Tuesday) at 6 pm on the first floor of the gallery Meno parkas (Rotušės a. 27, Kaunas) will be held the opening of sculptors’ exhibition “Dimension of Maket”.

“Dimension of Maket” is a walk in huge steps through sculptors’ creative kitchen, where huge part takes sketches, makets and models. It is probably the only state of the process, when the sculpture, object is fragile and vulnerable. It still may transform, rise or go down. Even start singing if the creator wishes. Thus the visitor, after getting in this live and organic environment, becomes the participant of the game – creation. At the same time – it is also an opportunity to get acquainted with the babyhood of already existing sculpture, like when you are looking through childhood’s photo album – some people have changed a lot and other, feels, remain the same.

This exhibitions is dedicated for this part of process of creation – explication of accomplished or just upcoming, utopic and daily sketches.

Curator of the exhibition Mindaugas Jurėnas.

On January 12th (Thursday) at 6 pm on the second floor of the gallery Meno parkas (Rotušės a. 27, Kaunas) will be held the opening of exhibition “Selfie for Art” of young artists Milda Sadauskienė and Laura Slavinskaitė.

“Selfie – for Art”

Man of 21st century is inseparable from technology. This phenomenon invoked fashion of social selfie worldwide: people takes photographs of themselves in various situations, places, often trying to express themselves in the best way they can. We, Milda Sadauskienė and Laura Slavinskaitė, students of Vilnius Academy of Arts, Kaunas Faculty, while witnessing this in our environment and on the internet, came up with the idea to make people activate their creativity in our city by pulling the community to participate in creating art – taking selfies for art purposes during Kaunas Hanza days. Whole process was filmed for documentary purposes. After collecting photos of people in Kaunas city, we used visual expression tools. At every photo we looked in an artistic unique way and transformed it to artistic shape. We are glad to be able to share the project results with you. January 12th 18:00 we will be waiting for you at gallery “Meno parkas”. Let’s meet there!
