On Tuesday, February 11th, 5 p.m.  gallery “101“ opens an exhibition by Kitso Lynn Lelliott (Republic of South Africa). Working in the field of new medias, such as documentaries, short and full feature films, this time the artist will present her video-installation „Transatlantic Saudades“. In her works, the artist explores the omitted narratives of the history, the topics of memory and oblivion.

The word Saudades, featured  in the name of this installation, has no direct translation, but, according to the artist, means something along the lines of nostalgia, sadness without melancholy, reminiscence and impatience. In her installation Lelliott speaks of the colonization and traumas left after that. She creates a story about one person from Africa, who ends up far away from home – across the oceans and is missing home, which is impossible for him to reach.
