vidaus-reikalai-plakatas-wwwThe exhibition “Inner Affairs“ in Arka Gallery in Vilnius is an attempt to present the multifaced art of the artists of the Association “Otwarta Pracownia“ (“Open Studio“) from Cracow: abstract and constructive painting, influenced by K. Malewicz‘s tradition (Ignacy Czwartos, Jacek Dłużewski, Krzysztof Klimek, Bettina Bereś, Wojciech Głogowski, Lech Kolasiński, Marek Kuś, Dariusz Mlącki), photography (Sławomir Toman, Bartłomiej Jarmoliński, Maria Pyrlik), installations with spatial objects (Olgierd Chmielewski, Jerzy Grochocki, Piotr Lutyński), objects and performances of Japan artists – Koji Kamoji and Miko Iwata, who live and work in Cracow.

Curators: Krzysztof Klimek, Robert Wolak.

“Otwarta Pracownia“ was founded in 1995 in Cracow. It has been running a non-commercial art gallery from the very beginning. The association is a community of artists of different age. It presents art and artists which work outside the mainstream of Polish contemporary art, without any hunt for prestige. Its main aim has been the search for artworks which could be an alternative for art installations and new media so dominant on the art scene in recent years, mostly concentrated on the possibilities given by painting. The Association and the gallery are open to anyone who wants to confront his/her art with others, to dialogue through art. The artists of Association are strong personalities, who search for new solutions in art. “Otwarta Pracownia“ exerts it‘s influence through presentations of different kind of art, publications, meetings.

The exhibition “Inner Affairs“ is a part of the interchange project, arranged with Lithuanian painters in 2016. The painting exhibition “Ad Originem” of artists – Henrikas Čerapas, Algimantas Černiauskas, Agnė Kulbytė, Gytis Aštrauskas, Simona Merijauskaitė and Artūras Mitinas has been held in 9 – 30 September, 2016 at the gallery “Otwarta Pracownia“ in Cracow.
