Taxi Driver
Laura Kaminskaitė
Performed by Post Brothers

Taxi Driver is a way of presentation or rather a navigational technology conceived by Laura Kaminskaitė which is applied to present the fluctuations of her older and latest works. The Taxi Driver supports the apparitions of the artworks in various styles. Every beautiful gesture here becomes a beautiful gesture in motion. There is hardly any chance to grasp these works in full-view since every time the experience is navigated, or rather it navigates itself – the drivers’ drive.

Laura Kaminskaitė (1984) is a Lithuanian artist who creates conditions, objects, books and texts.

5PM
An Ideal Museum Is All Wet
A presentation by Post Brothers

Post Brothers’ presentation An Ideal Museum Is All Wet is a lecture that will look at the physics of viewing through an underwater medium and will chart a history of flooded galleries and museums, wet artworks, submerged practices, and other attempts at visualizing and sinking into the deep.

Post Brothers (1984, Los Angeles) is a critical enterprise that includes Matthew Post—an enthusiast, typist, and curator at Kunstverein München.
SUNDAY, MAY 22
Cinema K.Suns

Film screening

A screening of films produced especially for the XII Baltic Triennial, with artists present and presenting their work. Including Road Movie by Gerda Paliušytė (2015), where ONYX, a famous New York hip-hop group from the 90s, are passing through a city that has been on the road to the West since the collapse of the Soviet Union; Paliušytė’s is a film about the overlaps between several journeys that share at least a few common denominators. In the meantime, Waiting by Vitalijus Strigunkovas (2015) is a film that uses a recording sourced from the archives of Lithuanian Radio and Television (LRT) – the country’s public broadcasting service. A brief report that was meant to document the landing of US Vice President Joe Biden at Vilnius airport in the spring of 2014 stretches to nearly 20 minutes of live broadcast; as the script of the news programme gradually exhausts itself, the visit’s political dimension reveals itself as increasingly more complex. In the artist’s film a Lithuanian voiceover is added to the broadcast that was originally shown in Lithuanian.
