Launched by Whitechapel Gallery (London), the platform Artists’ Film International (AFI) brings together 19 partnering organisations around the world to create a common distribution network for artists’ films. The films that are screened for the first time in Estonia have been created by international artists over the last few years. A roundtable discussion will be held on the opening day, featuring Patrick Hough, Mari-Leen Kiipli, Kristina Norman, and Whitechapel Gallery’s curator Emily Butler as the moderator. Check out AFI’s day one [1] and day two [2] programmes.
On 21 and 22 November, Kai is hosting an artist film workshop [3], led by Benjamin Cook (LUX). The director of LUX – Great Britain’s principal distribution agency of experimental and artist films – leads a two-day practical workshop in Tallinn. The participants are welcome to come with their project or idea, to further develop it under the guidance of a professional. Due to individual coaching, the group size is limited to 8 people. Get more information from the workshop coordinator Len Murusalu at len@chronolens.com and register with kadi-ell@kai.center
