On Thursday, 26 June, in Panevėžys, the museum invites the public to an open presentation celebrating this debut publication. This is the museum’s first book, offering a profound exploration of its inaugural exhibition. With striking design, the volume provides a chronological and unique panorama of Stasys Eidrigevičius’ artistic oeuvre.

Eidrigevičius’ Art in His Own Words

Jolanta Lebednykienė, the book’s compiler, explains that the newly opened contemporary art institution – the Stasys Museum, inaugurated last May in Panevėžys – welcomed visitors with the exhibition ICON-O-STASYS. The exhibition showcased the diverse works of Stasys Eidrigevičius: painter, graphic artist, photographer, installation and sculpture creator, performance artist, scenographer, writer, and director. A total of 232 pieces, drawn from both the museum’s collection and the artist’s personal archive, were displayed.

This multifaceted artistic universe, expressed through various media, is captured in the exhibition book, which presents a chronological panorama of his creations.

“Stasys’ work is organised by genre, allowing readers to trace the development of his artistic vision and to understand how his insights and decisions have evolved,” notes Lebednykienė. “In addition to the exhibited works, the book includes two new texts penned by Stasys himself, in which he offers compelling reflections on his creative journey and pivotal moments in his life.”
