Photo reportage from the exhibition ‘Transition. Ad infinitum’ by Irina Peleckienė at Glasets Hus Limmared, Sweden

The transit goes on forever, there are only different starting points.

Lately, the word transit has often been inflected. It seems like we are navigating a never-ending obstacle course in which the dark side of a human being reveals itself. Global events have accelerated making each of us feel not only as an individual unit but also as a common part of the world. Responsibility, questions about the future and survival, and the confrontation with the eternity have gained special urgency and importance. Every transition, one wants to believe, has a bright side, marking a new beginning, a rethinking of values. But can the essence of a human change?

The exhibition includes a series of new works from the period of 2020-2022 as well as several older works that add to the context. The beginning of the cycle – Sfumato-transition probes the theme of transition, transformation accompanied by an “unfocused” inner state, an uncertain future. Transition. Ad infinitum is the continuation of Sfumato-transition, adding new meanings and together creating one complete installation.

The sound artist is Tėja Peleckaite (Theya LeRoy) whose acoustical interpretation intertwines with my visual one.

The project was supported by the Lithuanian Council for Culture
