Photo reportage from the exhibition 'Measures of Proximity' at the EKKM

August 22, 2020
Author Echo Gone Wrong

The artist films programme Measures of Proximity is derived from states of being in and coming out of isolation. The presented works share a sense of hope and progression; their characters come together in surpassing their solitude. The spectrum of scenes ranges from quiet regard to ecstatic consecration. There’s both pulling and pushing – momentary breaks in a temporal chain, which call to slow down and be present.

Measures of Proximity is the third collaborative exhibition curated by Kulla Laas and Kaisa Maasik. In their exploration of artist films the duo of curators are interested in emotional aspirations keeping in parallel with quotidian purpose.
