Until December 8, ENKKL’s exhibition ‘Last Award’ is on view at the EKA Billboard Gallery.

The Estonian Young Contemporary Art Union (ENKKL) has been giving out Weekly Awards since 2022 on their Instagram account. They’re mission is to introduce active artists part of the Estonian art scene, who haven’t received enough recognition. By doing this, ENKKL has aimed to recognize, inspire and introduce young contemporary artists, to whom they dedicate the eternal honour of being the ‘young Estonian contemporary artist of the week’. Most of these artists are also members of the Estonian Young Contemporary Art Union (ENKKL).

The exhibition ‘Last Award’ at the Billboard Gallery of the Estonian Academy of Arts is the symbolic end of their weekly award. The group work was made during ENKKL’s summer school at Muhu, Estonia and the participants have stated the following about the artwork: ‘We invite all visitors and other passers-by to put their hands on it. Now you too have the opportunity to be a part of the Estonian art scene. You could be the next star artist! It’s warmer together. Together is better.’
