Photo reportage from the exhibition ILLUMINE/INTERPRETATIONS by Irina Peleckienė at the Artifex gallery

Process – framing the moment of – transformation – transmutation – materiality’s transgression – destruction of boundaries – swell of a light – interflow. ILLUMINE/INTERPRETATIONS is the 3rd part of interpretation of the creation process that continues and combines themes of exhibitions ONTOLOGY OF SHADOWS (2019), ILLUMINE (2019).

„I am not aiming frame myself, but glass as a material became my mediator, ‘broadcaster’, self-examination, motivation, communication, the light in the end of the tunnel, and destruction at the same time. I keep on purifying both – the substance and myself (like a lead could become gold) without asking what for and why. I am simply enjoying the process to which part I belong. I keep on going and looking for myself. My shadows are following me. The mode of weightlessness into which sometimes I get in is creating new reality for me. Every time while looking at myself I see someone else – I am following my own path and light lights up my way on. If we would paraphrase quote from the Bible: ‘Your word is a lamp to walk by, and a light to illumine my path’ (Psalm 119:105), I personally would impose this quote to my work as -‘My work is a lamp to walk by and a light to illumine my path’.“
