On 19 October 2024, at 8 pm, the Atletika Gallery (Vitebsko Str. 21, Vilnius) will present a performance by Jette Loona Hermanis, Gloria Viktoria Regotz and Deividas Vytautas Aukščiūnas titled ‘Core’ (2024). The performance will be followed by a party in the event space ‘Estafetė’ in the cultural centre SODAS 2123.

Three characters embody the complexity of self-perception, obsession and desire. Beneath this exterior lies an everlasting need for endless, empty content and a thirst for attention. They expose themselves, inviting the voyeur to observe, to indulge. They thrive on being seen, turning their existence into a competitive race. The performance of their identities is their favourite game, a violent dance set against the backdrop of a beautiful day. Through ritual, they transcend reality, becoming objects, fantasies, imaginary toys.

Auto romantic, self-obsessed, all drenched in vanity.
Feeding off of being perceived, observed, consumed.
Attention seeking, exposing the self digitally.
Craving to be your toy, web exhumed for you.
Competing harsh for clout, platform and visibility.
The mundane shifts to ritual, one carnally see-through.

Jette Loona Hermanis, pulsing Baltic blood, is a performance artist, choreographer, dj and performer, born 1997 in Tallinn, Estonia. After finishing her studies in SNDO Choreography, Amsterdam, she has since been based in Tallinn, Riga and Berlin. She received the Estonian Theatre Prize Dance Award 2022 with Johhan Rosenberg for their work “Eden Detail”. Her background runs in theatre, dance and music, which fatally led it’s way to choreography & performance, where stage crafting melts them in one. An eternal accompaniment of her work is mystifying transcendence and longing to express an affect. Strongly influenced by the digital age, the material carries a screaming obsession with self-centralization and online persona-portrayal, exhibiting emotional narratives of self in relation to existence and suffering of the soul. Storytelling as a concept from which ambiguous attitudes and ideas emerge.

Deividas Vytautas Aukščiūnas (b. 1996, Chicago, USA) is a Lithuanian visual artist and filmmaker working with video, performance, installation and print. She explores human relationships through personal experiences and reflections on social norms, family constructs, Catholicism, and individuality.
