After a large-scale outdoor exhibition in the summer of 2024, Wild Bits is evolving into a triennial. The next exhibition is planned for 2027. Wild Bits provides a platform for artists exploring the intersections of nature, technology, and human relationships.

Through this open call, the technological art farm Maajaam is looking for installations, interventions, or process-based works that fit into a natural landscape and examine the human condition in today’s technological society. The artworks must be durable for outdoor conditions.

Proposals can include new site-specific works as well as previously created pieces that align with the exhibition theme and can be adapted to different natural environments. One selected project will also be exhibited in Northern Ostrobothnia, Finland, in addition to Maajaam. The residency takes place between June and July 2025 and lasts approximately 3 weeks, depending on the project’s production plan.

The selected project will receive an artist fee of 3000€ (per collective, including taxes) for participation and production. The technical budget for the project is up to 5000€. Applicants are expected to submit an initial budget proposal.

The open call is supported by European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024, the European Union, and the Kultuurikauppila Art Center in Finland.
