Open Call: KORDON Architecture Residency

KORDON, in collaboration with its sponsors, is launching a short-term residency program for creative professionals and researchers in the field of architecture in Estonia. The program is open to architects, interior designers, landscape architects, urban planners, curators, architectural theorists, and researchers.

The residency is designed to support various activities related to architecture, including professional development, ongoing research, article writing, exhibition or competition preparation, and creative exploration.

Residency Duration:
Up to two weeks between March 7 and April 5, 2025.

Eligibility:
Architects, interior architects, landscape architects, urban planners, curators, architectural theorists, and researchers working in Estonia.

Residency Terms:

  • The residency is offered free of charge.
  • Accommodation includes a small studio with a sea view to the north and a larger studio to the south, each with a separate bathroom and a shared kitchen.
  • The residency space is equipped with Wi-Fi, a projector, and a large screen.
  • Bicycles are available for local transportation.

Applicants are asked to submit a free-form application including:

  • Contact information
  • Preferred residency period
  • A short biography (150 words)
  • A brief description of the intended activities during the residency (150 words)

KORDON Art Residency is based in Kärdla, Hiiumaa, offering a setting conducive to creative work, critical thinking, and engagement with the surrounding environment. The residency fosters dialogue between art, architecture, and nature, encouraging collaboration between an international network of professionals and the local community.
