Since one of the previously selected artists canceled participation, professional artists have the opportunity to join a temporary artist group for a collaborative residency in Riga, Latvia, from August 5-25, 2024. This residency, located in a cultural hub with over 100 studios, involves five international artists working in separate rooms, exploring the local context, and creating new ideas through collaboration. Interested artists must submit their CV and a motivation letter by August 1, 2024. The participation fee is 600 EUR, covering accommodation and workspace.
The aim of ‘’The Black Hole’’ residency is to foster creative freedom, explore local context and encourage collaboration and interdisciplinary experiments between participants. Already selected participants: Arte Laguna Prize 2024 winner Jingyi Wang (China/Norway), Ljubica Denkovic (Serbia), Kevin Frech (USA), Lidija Zaneripa (Latvia).
