Explore the Contemporary Art Centre (CAC) exhibitions with our expert tour guides! These guided tours introduce you to the work of artists currently on view – Anouk De Clercq, Barbora Fastrová & Johanna Pošová, Augustas Serapinas, and Anastasia Sosunova – along with the key ideas behind their exhibitions.

Augustas Serapinas’s exhibition ‘Physical Culture’ is one of his most ambitious presentations to date. This installation invites us to reconsider Western art history and rethink local education systems, which emphasise repetitive practice and diligent, hard work – paralleled here with the discipline of working out in a gym.

Anastasia Sosunova’s exhibition ‘Fandom’ continues her exploration of DIY culture, examining the relationship between commercialism and spirituality through a variety of artistic expressions.

Anouk De Clercq’s exhibition ‘We’ll Find You When the Sun Goes Black’ features a video depicting two birds in a weightless realm, their songs summoning the Sun – until an eclipse reveals the stars. Birdsong reflects on beginnings and endings, offering a meditation on a world where humanity no longer exists – a postlapsarian paradise, a kind of love at last sight.

Barbora Fastrová & Johanna Pošová’s single-work exhibition in the CAC South Hall presents ‘Breasts, Children, Creatures, and Waste’ (2022), a tapestry woven from textile waste – second-hand clothes, bedding, and leftover factory fabrics. The duo, who have collaborated for nearly a decade, have recently focused their practice on sustainability.
