This summer, the Contemporary Art Centre invites you to explore three exhibitions:
– Great, Northern, and Cinema Halls: the group exhibition Borders are Nocturnal Animals / Sienos yra naktiniai gyvūnai, curated by Neringa Bumblienė and Émilie Villez
– South Hall: Gerda Paliušytė’s solo exhibition Expectations, featuring sculptural objects by Gediminas G. Akstinas, curated by Asta Vaičiulytė
– First-floor foyer and inner courtyard: Polish artist Piotr Bury Łakomy’s solo exhibition Garden Exit, curated by Edvardas Šumila
At first glance, these three exhibitions differ in theme and form. However, a closer look reveals subtle interconnections. The guided tours are designed to help visitors notice shared motifs – such as the human–nature relationship and the impact of time on physical objects, as well as on cultural or political phenomena. The tours also highlight key differences between the exhibitions, revealing a diversity of themes and artistic approaches.
According to the tour organisers, all three exhibitions invite viewers to explore deeper meanings that connect past and present, individual and collective experience, the human body, architecture, and nature.
These guided tours offer a brief yet insightful introduction to three distinct but overlapping exhibitions. They are an exercise in seeing and thinking – encouraging visitors not only to observe but also to engage: to connect with the works, their choreography, and the stories they tell.

- Duration: 60 minutes

- Cancellations: If the minimum number of participants is not met, a tour may be cancelled up to 24 hours before its scheduled start. You will be notified by email. In case of cancellation, tickets will be refunded or can be exchanged for another tour.
TOUR GUIDES:
Martynas Pekarskas – A visual artist, working across painting, installation, and other media. His work explores visuality, time, fantasy, and contemporary art.
Agnė Taliūtė – Art historian, curator, educator, and curator of the CAC’s community engagement programme. For over eight years, she has worked in the field of cultural education, organising tours and programmes at various cultural institutions.
Margarita Žigutytė – Curator of educational programmes at the CAC.
