With us seemingly knowing this and that about them, forms are building imaginary scenarios in the space of their use and interrelations. By dispersing and shuffling the usual methods of constructing functionality the industrial mechanisms reverberate in the surfaces and uneven continuations of the space to converse about the unnoticeable, the self-evident while trying to untangle the social and aesthetic choreography of form creation.
Uģis Albiņš graduated from the Department of Visual Communication at The Art Academy of Latvia and has also studied in The School of Arts Ghent (KASK) in Belgium. He is actively taking part in contemporary art shows and events since 2016.
In his work, the artist tackles self-proposed problems of creating new forms by using a variety of methods – 3D modeling, 3D printing, casting in plaster, silicon, 3D scanning, CNC milling, etc. By doing so he reflects on production industries while interacting with architecture and turning the surrounding landscapes of impact into metaphoric expressions.
