‘Bathing’ In September 2024, the gallery ‘In The Closet’ aims to present a solo exhibition of the young artist Lukas Strolia, ‘Bathing’, an installation consisting of a newly created aluminium sculpture and a large-format illustration reflecting the aesthetics of a contemporary advertisement of a health facility. With this exhibition, the artist aims to look at how the concepts of leisure, recreation and wellness are shaped in Lithuanian society after the second wave of industrialisation, how they manifest themselves in political discourse during the Soviet era, highlight the cultural liberation during the period of Perestroika, and gradually transform into contemporary Western manifestations.
The exhibition is open to the public from 5 September, 6 pm.
