On August 28, Thursday, at 5:30 p.m., at the Klaipėda Gallery of the Lithuanian Artists’ Association Klaipėda Branch (6 Bažnyčių St.), the group exhibition ‘Second’ will open, featuring artists Dominykas Cinauskas, Ieva Černiauskaitė, Viktorija Damerell, Blue Helen, and Neda Rimaitė.
I started thinking about first and second sights. One could say that the first sight is less reliable. Even, more adventurous. Love at first sight, too – but, love for whom? The first sight usually has a spectator searching for information within themself. It’s like making a quick dinner with the three ingredients left in the fridge before leaving the house. The second sight is more reliable, more secure – it knows better. That’s why the truth it reveals can sometimes seem unpleasant or, sometimes, surprising. There is a third, a fourth, a fifth sight that’s meant to look deeper and see more. But, these should be used with care, or you might once again see what is not there. I have heard that sight creates fiction. But, which one.
Dominykas Cinauskas is an artist based in Vienna. Through storytelling, Cinauskas weaves interconnected synergies between different artistic disciplines. The Romantic legacy of Timothy Morton and the Gaia theory of James Lovelock are the main content ideas and interests surrounding his work. Romanticism is one of the key points of his creative field; whether traditional or literary, he likes to weave new theories that become a contemporary expression of sculpture.
Ieva Černiauskaitė lives and works in Vilnius. In 2025, she graduated from the Vilnius Academy of Arts with a Master’s degree in Contemporary Sculpture. Her artistic practice is based on the aspect of the unknown, which creates favorable conditions for exploring states of abstract reality. Ieva follows the ‘invisible’ materials and objects found in everyday life. She creates unusual situations for them and thinks about unexpected activations of images, materials, sounds, or objects, what she refers to as ruptures in the everyday.

Viktorija Damerell has been collecting an archive of portraits for almost ten years – of people who, for various reasons, seem to have doubled. If you have never noticed them in the streets, you will after seeing this video. They’re everywhere. Neda Rimaitė currently lives and works in Vilnius. In 2025, she graduated from the Vilnius Academy of Arts with a Master’s degree in Contemporary Sculpture. Neda has presented her work in Vienna, Paris and Vilnius. In her artistic practice, Neda is interested in stories and the tension between art and design. In her work, Neda uses chance as an instrument to find contact with materials or objects.
