Thursday 12 June, 17:00 Drobė Gallery (Drobės g. 62-308, Kaunas) will open the exhibition of the visual arts residency CreArt 3.0.

CreArt 3.0 is currently a network of 13 European medium-sized cities, which was established in 2012. The network partners exchange experiences and best practices to promote contemporary art projects through a permanent international exchange programme for emerging artists, curators and cultural practitioners and cultural managers, with the aim of maximising the economic, social and cultural contribution that creativity can make to the local communities of the network. Our consolidated network works together to create new collaborative links and extend our challenges across Europe.

CreArt 3.0 #stringing_together aims to extend the project’s activities beyond the visual arts. In previous editions of the project, we have focused on visual artists and the presentation of their work.  In Creart 3.0, we will focus more on other areas of interdisciplinary art, as well as further develop educational programmes for pupils, students and adults, and activities for exchange of best practices and professional development. The new phase of Creart 3.0 goes beyond the EU borders and launches a new collaboration with a Lviv-based NGO to support Ukrainian artists in improving their professional skills and to give them the opportunity to showcase their work in the network cities.

The Creart 3.0 international residency programme, which started on 5 May, invited 4 artists from the partner cities: Francesco Casati from Venice (Italy), Theo Levillain from Clermont-Ferrand (France), Guilherme Sota from Aveiro (Portugal) and Nataliya Ilchuk from Lviv (Ukraine). The results of this art residency in Kaunas will be presented from 12 to 30 June at the Drobė Gallery.
