Upcoming two shows in new space of “Meno parkas” in Dusseldorf (Dorotheenstrasse 22, 40235, Dusseldorf, Germany [1]) will be inaugurated on 24th of March at 6 pm and continue till 10th of May.
“Cabinet of Nature Gourmand” by gallery’s “Meno parkas” artist – Aušra Vaitkūnienė – was presented in London in gallery “Unit 1 Gallery|Workshop” [2] and in “Meno parkas” in Kaunas and now is awaited by new “Meno parkas” space in Dusseldorf. According to Aušra Vaitkūnienė, it is not an exhibition, but a cabinet of artworks, things etc., which fits her observations, thoughts and feelings about nature and world. Cabinet, which became open for the viewers, after being moved from her studio and home, for it to be able to communicate, talk and joke around. And if by this way new insight, ideas or thoughts appear, then this cabinet can become an exhibition.
Aušra Vaitkūnienė, recipient of The Pollock-Krasner Foundation’s prize (2013), is a head of Painting Cathedral at Kaunas Faculty of Vilnius Academy of Arts.
In the next room will be presented installation by other gallery’s artist Česlovas Lukenskas, who was just warmly welcomed in fair art KARLSRUHE. According to artist, his new installation CREMATES (2017) – “essential ideological symbols / icons / signs, touching in particular traumatic experiences of human in recent ages. Signs pool to demolish representatives and identities of other signs. For some mythologems, victims and executioners, eternities and dusts of temporary, renouncing the highest humanity values, finds themselves in the face of question of the meaning of existence without answers. The only answer is repentance.

Already classic of Lithuanian contemporary Česlovas Lukenskas – maintain cherishing wildness and particular chaos. Artist uses recycled materials for his CREMATES. He puts burnt wooden various shapes, baring symbolic meaning, objects under the glass and exposes it. Česlovas Lukenskas, who is one of pioneers of contemporary objects Lithuanian art and reformers, operates here good quantity (a lot!) of framed burnt wooden objects, what may refer conservation of the meaning.
Česlovas Lukenskas – installations, objects, actions and performance artist, who has musical education. He is one of pioneers of contemporary Lithuanian art and reformers, member of meaningful artists group – “Post Ars”, who trembled in in art scene around 1990s and maintains it while being a dean at Vilnius Academy of Arts.
