Tõnu Tunnel, ArtProof Grant winner 2013

ArtProof hereby announces the competition for the Young Photographic Artist Grant, which is being awarded for the third time. In association with HP, the winner will receive a grant valued at €5000 for the printing of large-format art pieces. The grant includes the compilation of works for exhibition with professional printing services and, if required, set-up and transport services for the exhibition itself.

A public exhibition will be held at Tallinn City Gallery from 23 April to 25 May 2014 to showcase and promote the work of the winning photographer. In addition to exhibitions in Estonia, the recipient of the grant will also be invited to show their work at the Photoville festival in New York in autumn 2014. The festival programme, which is designed to shine the spotlight on international photographers, includes a series of talks, workshops and presentations over a period of two weeks.

Additional information

Applicants must take the picture quality required for printing into account when submitting pieces for the project.

In order to select the appropriate formatting, photographers are invited to attend a consultation at a time agreed upon by e-mailing info@artprint.ee or visiting the ArtProof Gallery.

In terms of how the pieces are presented, the winner can choose from ArtProof’s exhibition-quality products, such as photo-aluminium or diasec (acrylic glass + aluminium). Special solutions can also be devised in cooperation with the photographer.

In addition to large-format photographs, the winner may include pictures taken using other techniques as part of their project. However, the preparation and presentation of such pieces is the responsibility of the winner.

The members of the jury to select the winner of the ArtProof Young Photographic Artist Grant 2014 are:

Sam Barzilay, founder and director of the Photoville photographic festival in New York
A representative of the Estonian Contemporary Art Development Centre
