RUPERT calls for applications

Rupert, an educational exhibition center devoted to establishing close cooperation between artists, thinkers and researchers, is now open for applications in framework of Educational and Residency programs.

The deadlines are : 14 July for the first round of residencies and 1 August for the Educational Program.

Educational program application requirements:
The applications for the 2013-2014 program are accepted between 1 June – 1 August, 2013
Program date is 1 October 2013 – 30 June 2014

Each application should include:
– A proposal of a project idea to develop throughout the duration of the program
– The name of an artist or thinker whom the applicant would ideally study under
– CV
– Motivational letter
– A portfolio (consisting of a maximum of five works)
– A link to personal website/blog (optional)

Please send all application materials to edu@rupert.lt by 1 August, 2013.
Successful applicants will be selected for live and Skype interviews which will take place the week following the application deadline.
Rupert offers FREE tuition for the educational program, yet the applicant is responsible for covering his personal expenses (accommodation, food, transport etc). Rupert’s team will support successful participants’ applications in applying for grants to cover living and travel expenses.

Residency program application requirements:

The applications for the summer/autumn residency round are accepted between 1 June – 14 July, 2013.
Residency date is 1 August – 13 October, 2013.
3 residents will be invited for residencies every term.

– CV
– Motivational letter
– A portfolio (consisting of a maximum of five works)
– A link to personal website/blog (optional)

Successful applicants will be selected for Skype interviews which will take place the week following the application deadline.
Rupert offers free work&living space for each resident, yet the applicant is responsible for covering his personal (daily and travel) expenses. Rupert’s team will support successful participants’ applications in applying for grants to cover travel expenses.

The second round of residencies will take place between November 2013 – January 2014.

Rupert presentations in the Baltic took place in Riga: kim? May 20th and Tallinn: CCA, May 22nd.

Rupert plans to visit Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, Nida, Warsaw and Minsk in late June and early July for presentations, so please check back the wesbsite for dates and locations next week.
