The exhibition of the sculptor Andrius Erminas “The Human Factor. A Box” was opened in Klaipėda, at the si:said gallery (Galinio Pylimo str. 28, Klaipeda, Lithuania) on September 6.

The artist continues theme of the earlier exhibitions “Human Factor” (along with co-authors Nerijus Erminas and Rimantas Milkintas from 2011). The works focus on the human dimension in an individuality, object and sculpture. The successful-unsuccessful choices in life are reflected in the art works. Artists rethink concepts of autonomy and authorship.

Single objects of the exhibition “The Human Factor. A Box” unite organically to a whole. The connecting element of the installation is a box. A box is a thing, where you can put something and keep. The design and labeling of the box gives limited information about inside content. The objects of the exhibition are only reference to possible items. It’s like a game: visible-invisible, inside-outside. “That reminds me also of tattoo, which can give a hint about a person’s character. You never know, what is really inside, until you open the box”, – says artist Andrius Erminas.

Andrius Erminas  (b. 1971) is a graduate from Vilnius Academy of Art, has a Master degree in sculpture. He actively organizes solo and participates in group exhibitions. He lives and works in Vilnius, Lithuania.

The exhibition lasts until 1st of October.
