After involving more than 100 people in Armenia and Georgia, the workshop “Performance Art as a Tool for Democracy” is coming to Loural as a result of partnership between RAIZVANGUARDA – Cultural Organization and Loural Village.

This workshop takes place in October, between 10th and 17th, in Loural Village, a touristic village in Colmeal, just over 30 minutes from Góis. “Performance Art as a Tool for Democracy” will be leaded by Denisas Kolomyckis, an interdisciplinary artist with extensive experience in performance, acting, dance and visual arts.

During 7 days, participants will get in touch with core concepts of performance, through different art works of international artists with a direct impact in social movements. In a open atmosphere, participants will perceive and performe different movements, improving our physical awareness and expression. By sessions outside, participants will create a space of symbiosis with the surrounding nature, seeking for deeper understandings of the use of their own body, engaging with new techniques through technical practice, reflection and performances.

During this course, through exercises, discussions and research, all participants will have the opportunity to present their own experiences and ideas in their own field of practice. This workshop will reflect the importance of our body by revealing motion capabilities and composition. Throughout this workshop, participants will be encouraged to create their own performances and execute it with direct support and guidance of the tutor.
