Lithuanian pavilion receives a special mention in the 55th Venice Biennale

The joined Lithuanian-Cypriot pavilion was assigned a special mention in the 55th International Art Exhibition of la Biennale di Venezia.

The Jury  chaired by Jessica Morgan(Great Britain) and comprised of Sofía Hernández Chong Cuy (Mexico), Francesco Manacorda (Italy),Bisi Silva (Nigeria), and Ali Subotnick (United States) has confered a special mention to „oO“ project for „an original curatorial format that brings together two countries in a singular experience“. The project is curated by Raimundas Malašauskas, commissioners – Jonas Žakaitis and Aurimė Aleksandravičiūtė.

Artists participating in Lithuanian pavilion: Gintaras Didžiapetris, Elena Narbutaitė, Liudvikas Buklys, Kazys Varnelis, Vytautė Žilinskaitė, Morten Norbye Halvorsen, Jason Dodge, Gabriel Lester, Dexter Sinister.

Lithuanian-Cypriot pavilion shares the special mention award with Japanese pavilion “abstract speaking – sharing uncertainty and collective acts”.

The Goden Lion for Best National Participation went to Angola‘s pavilion.
