I saw You in Google Street View near Calvary Street. Do you come here often?
Don’t run with a candy – you’ll poke your throat!

Doesn’t matter. You look like a doll. Come here often?

300K visitors per day…

Let them in, then delete the door. Build walls around the pool. They’ll wave at first, then die.

The forest of artificial sun is full of butterflies
Whispering about life. Call me…
Ocelli eyes
Throat’s for suction.

Not all butterflies live just for one day.

(Aistė Marija Stankevičiūtė)

On the 28th of February, 2020, Friday, 6:30 PM, KCCC Exhibition Hall (Didžioji Vandens str. 2, Klaipėda) invites you to the opening of “Is She Coming?“, a group exhibition by four young contemporary female media artists –
Agnė Masilionytė,
Austėja Masliukaitė,
Saulė Miežytė and
Aistė Marija Stankevičiūtė.
The event will open with Saulė Miežytė’s performance “Melanin print”.

The exhibition suggests looking into the questions raised by the generation that witnessed the rise of Youtube and grew up in the age of endless browsing. It seeks to reveal their creative reflections on the today’s hybridising processes – the dissolving borders of the body, gender, the phenomena of pop culture, different media and their perception.

The (un)real situations – desires and imagination, simulation and stimulation – are intertwined here. Saulė Miežytė’s artificial sun installation; Aistė Marija Stankevičiūtė’s computer generated vocalisation of pleasure and/or pain; Agnė Masilionytė’s cyber lurking around the doxyspotting’s streets; Austėja Masliukaitė’s questioned desires objectivised within a no longer edible lollipop.

Exhibition “Is She Coming?” is a walk around a space that may simultaneously be seen as an exterior and an interior, a hallway sliding between reality and virtuality, between actuality and the imaginary. “Is she coming?” is an impulse and a question for this exhibition-excurse, inspired by the name of one of the artist’s work.

The exhibition will be open until the 22nd of March, 2020.
KCCC Exhibition Hall (KKKC, Didžiojo Vandens str. 2, Klaipėda) is open III-VII from 11 AM to 7 PM. Museum is closed on public holidays.

The exhibition is the first part of a continuous project, which seeks to present the debuting artists. Its further trajectories will be showcased later in March in Vilnius.
