Exhibition ’20/20′ by Dalia Truskaitė at the Meno Parkas Gallery in Düsseldorf

An exhibition titled “20/20″ by the contemporary artist Dalia Truskaitė will open at the Meno Parkas Gallery (Dorotheenstr. 22) on Friday, November 20, without an opening reception event.

In the exhibition artist, with the help of the artwork – a horizontal wire plane – devides gallery’s space, eliminates its functionality, complicates the physical state of the viewer in his usual territory, thus creating questions for the visitor about the perception and meanings of a gallery’s space.

„I’m mostly interested in formal (pure) plastic ideas, relations between space and object, transformations of space („discussions” with a space). So is this work, conceived as an abstract (horizontal division of space), a bit provocative to the audience (inability to enter the space, intended for the viewer to enter in) idea. Which kept spinning in my mind without finding the right space, until in the summer of 2019 we agreed to “place” it in the Meno Parkas Gallery in Düsseldorf.

It sometimes happens that life contexts seem to “unveil” even completely abstract works… and unexpectedly gives completely different, unplanned meanings to the author’s ideas… It also happened this time.”
