Katinelis&Gaidelis presents Paulina Eglė Pukytė with moving image works Metamorphosis and Dialog (I, II), Linas Jablonskis with a series of drawings Untied Threads of Love, and a couple of other things. Both artists use apropriation, layering, juxtaposition and re-editing of found material. Thus they play with usual artefacts as well as with well-known stories. Paulina's video and animation paraphrases Kafka and Beckett: in painfully constrained movements (albeit according to instructions) a woman crawls out of literature on beauty and body perfection, while two tramps, seemingly arguing with each other in entirely different places, are again perpetually waiting for Godot. Linas is retelling love stories of Napoleon and Josephine, Chopin and George Sand, Hitler and Eva Braun, Caesar and Cleopatra; however, nothing really happens in these pseudo comic strips.
What is "a relationship" and is there such a thing as mutual understanding?
The show was to be entitled Broken Threads of Love, but Jablonskis later decided, for reasons unknown, to keep the title just for himself, he also changed the word broken into untied (which is not the same at all), maintaining that it was like that from the beginning.
