One Night Only Gallery invites you to its very first event in Vilnius on 14 June at Kultflux arts platform.

ONO Vilnius is pleased to present an installed performance “A Blinking nuisance for readers” by Lithuanian artist Titas Silovas.

An encoded text will be communicated to the gallery from the other bank of the river using signal spotlight. The visitors will be invited to become telegraphists on their own. Not giving clues right away, Titas creates a situation pleading for mistake, the nuisance so to say. In this way it correlates with the basic principle of perception, which is only possible when the sign is linked with the meaning.
Being in many ways connected with the site and the gallery platform in particular the performance  gains the qualities of installation. Changing its visual and physical form the riddle is solved in the end.

The blinking nuisance is a recollection which is never quite complete. A brief passage of text disappears lightly and gently into the mist of water.
The code is the message. The message deriving from and for your own observation.

Titas Silovas (b. 1979) lives and works in Vilnius. He graduated from Vilnius Arts Academy in BA of Photography and Media as well as Design followed by MA course at Malmö Art Academy, Sweden.
He have been participating in group exhibitions at Contemporary Art Center in Vilnius, Fotografins Hus, Skeppsholmen, Sweden to mention few. In 2011 he had his solo exhibition at KHM gallery, Malmö. Titas is currently a lecturer at Vilnius Arts Academy.


One Night Only Gallery (ONO) Vilnius was established in June 2012 together with and support from ONO Gallery Oslo to become a gathering place for young artists to expand a critical discourse through dialogue. Seeking to foster connections between artists creating in different but adjacent social environments, the scope of One Night Only will range from Baltic to Scandinavian artists, including a variety of educational experiences.
