"do-it-yourself": “How To Light Up LED With Your Body” with artist Mindaugas Gapševičius

Lithuanian Interdisciplinary Artists’ Association invites artists and everyone interested to take part in the workshop “How To Light Up LED With Your Body” with Mindaugas Gapševičius, an artist from Berlin. This event is part of the series of “do-it-yourself” workshops at project space “Malonioji 6”.

This workshop will consist of conversations and experiments with the aim to light up a LDE light by using human body. The event will start with a conversation about the relationship between the electronics and live organisms, raising questions such as “is co-functioning of an electronic device and a live organism at all possible and why? This discussion will continue through experiments where devices will be connected to plants and to humans, and results will be observed and analysed.

Mindaugas Gapševičius is a media artist and curator currently teaching at Bauhaus University in Weimar and at the Berlin Weissensee School of Art. He is one of the initiators of Migrating Art Academies project. In his art practice Gapševičius is focussing on social issues and takes a critical position on contemporary neoliberal tendencies.
