Rupert would like to invite its Baltic neighbours to attend Rupert presentations in Riga (Kim? Monday, May 20th 6:30pm) and Tallinn (CCA Wednesday, May 22nd 5pm). Juan de Nieves, the newly appointed director of Rupert will give a talk about Rupert and answer the questions.

The European Investment Bank (EIB) Institute launches a mentoring programme/artist's residency, with the inaugural cycle targeting visual artists (aged <35) from the Baltic States, Malta and Cyprus.The EIB Institute aims to highlight/pay tribute to the extraordinary pool of creative talent in Europe. For the first edition of its mentoring programme, it will exclusively focus on artists with an Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta or Cyprus nationality or domiciled in either of these countries.

RIXC artists Raitis Šmits and Rasa Šmite together with sound artist Voldemārs Johansons are participating in this year's 15th International Media Art Biennale “WRO 2013” with their collaborative innovative artwork “Bacteria Battery Nr 8”.

Alternativa is a recurring art exhibition that has been organized since 2010 by the Wyspa Institute of Art/Wyspa Progress Foundation in the 90B Hall of the Gdansk Shipyard. It is an inquiry into timely topics implicated within the location of practice. The previous exhibitions held in 2012 include Materiality and Wyspa: Now is Now as well as Estrangement and Labour and Leisure in 2011.

“Aldona” - a short film by a video artist Emilija Škarnulytė - will take part in the competitive program of the world's oldest Oberhausen Short Film Festival which starts today. Having the film included in this program means important international recognition for the twenty-five year old artist from Lithuania.
