How familiar is the situation when the curators and artists are seemingly trying to stay open to the viewer’s interpretation and instead of imposing their own perspective as the correct one, start a “conversation” “in the international artists and art lovers’ community”, while actually concealing the inability to take a position and justify their motivation. Finally such an approach culminates in the Baltic artists’ contemporary painting exhibition Art & Response / Ability where responsibility is reduced to a mere ability to respond. But in that case, what is the response?
