Arsenāls Exhibition Hall

The Arsenāls Exhibition Hall [1] of the Latvian National Museum of Art (LNMA) at 1 Torņa Street is the largest art exhibition hall in Riga; it is housed in a significant architectural monument, an early 19th-century customs warehouse building or arsenal built in the late Russian Classicism style of the late Russian Classicism; it has now been converted to suit the needs of a museum.

The holdings of the Latvian National Museum of Art, housed at the Arsenāls building, is comprised of works of art created by Latvian and Latvian-born artists during the period from late 20th century until the present day. The permanent exhibition is replaced from time to time by regular exhibitions from the museum holdings, revealing the developmental processes of the Latvian visual arts from various vantage points,.

The Arsenāls Exhibition Hall of the LNMA hosts extensive art exhibitions, international projects and various art and cultural events on a regular basis.

Visitors are offered specialist-guided excursions and special educational programes. A scientific document center is available for further reference.

The museum is closed on public holidays: 1. January, Good Friday, Easter, Ligo holidays (23 to 24th June), Christmas Day (25th-26th December), 31st December.
